Exposure
Exposure is an innovative new detective series, focusing on a previously unexplored area in drama, that of environmental and wildlife crime. At a time when a single rhino horn can fetch upwards of a million US dollars, the business of animal poaching attracts multinational criminal organizations attracted by the lower risk and greater rewards.
Based on the real-life organisation, Interpol’s Environmental Crime Unit, the series will follow detectives as they seek to investigate global environmental crimes ranging from animal trafficking to toxic dumping and in the process come up against some of the most ruthless criminals in the world. Environmental crime occurs hand in hand with other offences such as corruption, money laundering, the smuggling of weapons, drugs and people and, very often, murder. A day in the life of an ECU officer can bring anything from armed combat with rhino horn poachers; dealing with the ramifications of illegal deforestation; locating and arresting exotic animal breeders; tackling an industrial plant that is destroying our endangered coral reefs; to shutting down a major network of animal traffickers.
Exposure will also be at the centre of a revolutionary viewing platform involving 360 / Virtual formats. There will be further opportunities to link viewers to related documentaries, environmental organisations, pressure groups and social media. A dedicated website will collate all the related information into one place so that viewers can know what is happening around our planet and how they can be involved.
Pilot episode by Dina Haeri available to read from her agent David Kayser [email protected]
